From the Daily Kos...
"Don't panic", sure, I'll take that advice, from the fictional Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. But not "calm down".
It's time to be angry, and passionate, and vehemently demand justice.
It's not a time for calm. It's a time for cold, and relaxed, maybe, but not calm.
It's time for people to realize that a President who doesn't care about freedom or justice has been pushing our nation to commit injustices, and the Congress has been letting him, and now, they've pushed the issue even further, encoding the injustice in the laws of a nation that deserves much, much better.
The Congress got all emphatic when it came time to protect two words in the Pledge of Allegiance... but what about the ones that come later?
"... with liberty and justice for all."
When I was a kid, going through an irreverent phase, my friend and I joked "...with liberty and justice for all, except for certain unprotected undesirables and minority groups."
It doesn't seem like the funny irreverance of an pair of adolescent boys any more.
